The New Norm?

Disney has been handling the mask/COVID-19 situation very well. I think that they are making the best of what they can...but does everyone feel this way?

No one knows how long the COVID-19 situation will be around. I'm sure Disney is ready for everyone to begin traveling again. But I have to ask everyone, is this the new norm? Will everyone have to wear masks to Disney forever? And even if the mask mandate is lifted, do you think that wearing a mask will be a regular thing for some people?

I think some people, myself included are questioning why there are still mask mandates if you have the vaccine. But I'm not here to be political.

So another question is why Disney still suffering? I know some people don't want to spend the same amount of money to do half the activities. The character meet & greets are not exisstant right now. There are no fireworks displays. There are a few character cavalcades but no formal parades. And a lot of the restaurants and resorts are still not open. So would you spend the same amount of money to get half the experience?

I think that many people who regularly go to Disney will no have no trouble going now. I think this is effecting those who may not go every year or who haven't gone at all. They want to experience Disney the way that it has always been, and can you blame them?

As a former Disney Cast Member, I struggle with NOT going down to support Disney because so many Cast Members lost their jobs this past year (some of my friends included). Disney NEEDS our support and NEEDS us to keep going back in order to rehire those who lost their jobs.

So if you're considering a trip to Disney right now, I think you should make a non-negotiable list. If fireworks are non-negotiable to you, then right now is probably not the time to go. But if you can live without them, maybe you can go. Same goes for all the other factors as well.
